People running LT4 hotcam any problems?
I was just wondering if anyone has had any performance problems with this cam and if anyone has ever got a misground lt4 hot cam. The reason im asking is im running a LT4 hotcam that sounds and performs like a LT4 stock cam along with the fact that im not able to run as much timing as i should for a cam the size of a the hot cam

You may want to go to an LT4 knock sensor and see if that helps.. You may be having alot of timing taken out. I dunno how a stock LT4 cam sounds but the hot cam doesn't lope that hard.

And the Hotcam may not lope hard through a set-up running cats and a "quiet" muffler...But it lopes plenty hard without cats and through something like a wide-open Borla, Loudmouth, Flowmaster, and especially a cutout or dumped true duals. Not quite as choppy as a CC306, but you definitely hear it...I personally love the way it sounds (lopes noticeably, but not overly choppy either). That is the cam I'll most likely be going with for my mild street set-up LT1...

I ran the Hotcam for a couple of years. Hooker LT's, !cats and Flowmaster American Thunder catback. It had a surprisingly decent lope to it.....not nearly what my GTP-6 has but quite a lope.

ya see thats my problem no lope.. sounds stock even with open headers, but im like 80% sure i checked to make sure the part number was right on the cam when i put it in but it was a while back when i installed it. Anyways my dyno numbers are about 70hp bellow what they should be and my 1/4 time is about a second less than what it should be. So im thinking i either recived the wrong cam or it was misground.

What type of numbers have you guys seen from the LT4 hotcam kit? I just ordered it and Im a little curious. Im doing the hotcam kit, vented opti, LT4 extreme timing set, new lifters and 1LE elbow?

No....sure the LT4 heads and intake have more potential ported than the stock castings but the Hotcam isn't an ideal blower cam.
You'd see better gains for the money with some ported stock castings and a custom grind matched to the heads and blower setup.
