cam question (cc305, 306)
ok so im tryin to deside between the 305 and 306 cam. ive been reading alot and im leaning towards the 306 now because it will have more potential in the long run. if i were to do the 305 cam and 1.6 rockers the lift would be .544/.544 right? if i were to do the 306 cam on the stock 1.5 rockers the lift would be .510/.540. the 306 cam rpm range is from 1800-5800. you can rev a stock internal lt-1 to 6-6200 safely right? ive also saw that some people replaced the brake booster because it wasnt creating enough vacum? am i going to have a problem with that? im also an automatic car. i relize the 306 is a big cam. but i really want to go with a bigger size cam. is my theory here logical or not? also what will the duration be on the 306 with 1.5 rockers? what will the duration be with 1.6 rockers and the 305 cam?

i have a 306 in my lt1 a4...converter get around a 3000 with 3.73...its not that bad but iver read where people with a 306 shift and 61-6200 and run slower than a 305 cam at 61-6200...because u drop back down out of the power band...my thought is 306 for a stick and 305 for an auto...unless ur like me and wanna rish it and rev that thing to about 65-66-mayb 6700...then get the 306 in an auto and have lots and lots of fun...btw my brakes werent taht good on the base tune ion gave me with idle at 850-900...so i moved ui up a hundred and theyre great...cept mayb doing a 3 pt turn kinda thing into a parking space ect...but its not bad!
i reccomend it with a 3000 stall and rev it to 6500
