Default Headlight replacments

What's the brightest replacement headlights for our cars? I have silverstars in my 00 and love them. I guess they don't make a silverstar headlight for the lt1 cars. I want a replacement that mimics the silverstar in color and brightness if possible.

There are a few write ups on how to change the bulb filament part of the LT1 headlight and just reuse the housing. I tried it and it worked pretty well, but then I just opted to convert to the Hella FF75's for all 6 lights. Way better looking and much more light.

Before

After, before I did the fogs

Are the hella's a direct replacement? They look alot better that's for sure. I imagine with the fogs done it is bright. Is there any way to override the fog lamps turning off when the high beems are on? I know thay do it on my 2000 so I figured it was the same on the 97 also. Yea it's a camaro and sorry about the spelling.

The Hella's were not a direct replacement but did not take a lot of thinking to get them in, just some quick ABS plastic shims and I was in business. The fog lights were a little more tricky, as you can not just screw them to the plastic because it vibrates too much and looks like hell. I just used the factory brackets for scrap metal and fabbed up some good brackets out of them. I don't remember if I had to weld on them to make the brackets, but I'm sure it can be done without it.

I got them all on ebay and they were a lot cheaper then, around $100 for all 3 sets. They have gone up a lot. Look for Hella FF75 lights. There are a few on there right now, one set is under $10 w/ $13 shipping. You will need 3 sets.

I just recently ordered the Eurolamps sealed beam kit for my Formula and I've heard good things about the kit. I especially like how I can use xenon and hid blubs in them.

I didnt like the idea of glueing the replacement bulbs into the housings so i went and got a SBC kit that converted me away from Sealed beams to reflector housings that i can pop any bulb into. Beforwarned... theres a good number of images there. about 5 seconds on DSL 3meg.

I just did the hella swap on all lights. I love it. I just wish I had the time and a place to adjust them.

Not true, atleast for my 95 TA which I assume extends to all LT1 Trans Am. you want 880ST lights, worked fine for me, kind of pita to get at but not that bad.

Where do you get that kit from? I cant find a sealed beam conversion kit for headlights of our size.
