I would think the LT1 ram air would be better, a little more direct flow and alot bigger surface area on the filter

Ram Air is a joke. It;s a gimmick. Focus your money elsewhere.

CAI system would be just as good plus no need for a new hood. i'd say the same as vendetta and use the money elsewhere

I too have the same question. I have a 96 T/A with a suncoast creations ram air hood, but I have the K&N CAI that goes down the the wheel well. But the filter gets dirty real quick and in the rain water gets up there. Don't mean to hijack this thread or nothing. Just same question.

you will NOT gain 15hp from a functional ram air hood/system.....unless you're running in NASCAR, don't expect to see any gains. Just buy the hood, and keep whatever CAI system you have. The only advantage is easier access to clean the filter.

I just saw that hood today, looked great on the car but it looked like it could be an issue trying to see out of the windshield with it on.

Put the money into SFC, driveshaft loop, LCA, or better yet for the price of ram air kit you can get an adjustable torque arm which will help your car hook tremendously. I can think of bunch of stuff I could get with the money saved from the ram air kit.

Being that I have driven both Ram Air and non Ram Air LT1 Trans Ams, I can tell ya while it doesn't do what they said, you can feel a pretty big difference.
I agree it was a more of a marketing gimmick than anything.
