Default pcmforless vs. madz28

ok well they list all they can do to ur car as :
· Change the fan turn on temperatures for a 160° thermostat.
· Program the transmission to perform similar to a shift kit (1994 and newer). and delete the dreaded Torque Management
· Power program the car for use with premium octane gasoline.
· Remove the top speed limiter.
· Correct the speedometer and transmission for gear and tire changes.
· Correct for the use of a larger throttle body.
· Change idle settings and restore drivability with cam installs.
· Correct for larger injectors.
· Correct for larger displacement (383, 396, etc....).
. Improve mileage especially on the 99 and newer trucks.

well with hypertech wasnt most of this done?? i dont have cam or heads and i have skip shift so wut do they do thats not listed that is so good, and pcm for less is 175 while mad z28 is like 100 why the difference is there any?

madz28 has done the programming for my friends' 95 Z. He has great customer service, and his turn around time is fast. Any questions he had madz28 answered them. I am going with madz28 for my programming...

I say there's no substitute for a dyno tune. Just my $.02.

You can't go wrong with either company, they both offer proven tunes and good customer service. Flip a coin.

I sent 2 emails one to pcmforless & madz28 on 3-16-06 about my plans on my motor and when it will be finished so they can give me a little info.
only pcmforless contacted me. So PCMforless is my choice..

Hypertech offers one set of timing tables for instance and they are not that good, just one example of why it is such a BAD option, it gives a few choices where the tuners have infinite flexibility, if the Hyercrap was any good the tuners would just copy it's settings and offer it to you for far less money.

I will agree both pcmforless and madz28 are good have done buissiness with both.
On the dyno tune, they aren't as good as most people think since the rollers ARE NOT THE CAR, so the load placed on the engine is different, some tuners have learned to account for this others haven't.

There are other good tuners out there some even maybe better than these two BUT that is unlikely to matter with a stock or common mods type car, and the others will cost more.

If you tune on a mustang dyno it's actually pretty close.

Dynojet is kinda different yes, so you have to account for that.

I've used MadZ28 for two tunes. First was for my motor rebuild and second I changed injectors and Thermo and had him reprogram it. I had problems with my original injectors and called him up to talk to him. He gave great input and help me with all my questions. Would use and will use again im sure.

Having a tune done by madz28 now. Will post results. Both madz28 and pcmforless seem to do the exact same thing. MadZ is cheaper. I looked at hypertech and its just to off the shelf for me.

madz28 did my ls1 along with madmatts lt1 above. He is really busy right now, I needed him to chage a couple things with my tune and it took him a couple weeks. my first tune was pretty good, 12.7 afr on the dyno. be patient he should come through and when he does you will be pleased.

I just got MadZ28's email flash-it-yourself package for my 94Z this last week, got the baseline tune flashed on it and it already runs alot smoother at idle and just driving around. Just feels better all around. I seem to be getting just a bit of knock detected at WOT though, I've sent him some datamaster logs and am looking forward to the next revision.

All I have are mild bolt ons, shorties, catback, CAI, etc and it was worth the $65 by far already...

I have a madz28 tune and its great! More power, harder shifts, and all the parameters set the way that I want them. There is a definate difference after the tune. I have heard good things about pcmforless but my vote is for madz28.
