Quick rear gear question. I was wondering if I have to buy a 3-series carrier if I purchase a set of 3.73 gears for my 97 Z8. I had to in my 89. But I dont know if it has changed with the different rear end in the 97.

check the rpo codes for your gear ratio. i think gu2 or gu3 is 2.73 and gu 5 is 3.23 something like that(if im wrong someone correct me)
3.23s mean 3 series carrier
2.73s mean 2 series- if you have a 2 series they do make 2 series 3.73s that will fit. they are just a bit thicker than the 3 series gears.
