Default thinking about stroking, curious on gains

what kind of gains do people with LT1s expect when they stroke it to a 383 or a 396..???

im thinking about using stock heads/cam for the mean time but i know raising the compression and making it a 383 will make some decent power but how much?

Your money would be infinetely better spent on the heads and cam and leaving the stock bottom alone, otherwise you will have the slowest stroker on the forum.

This is something you should read http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=440883

Cubes don't make power airflow does, add cubes after you have great airflow, airflow is controlled by the heads and cam. A stroker will only make similar peak HP to a similarly setup 350, it will make more average power(midrange torque) but not more peak.

There was a time when I though cubes were the answer, I have since learned a lot.

The cam is the first cork in the stock motor after that is heads.

Well it usually relieves some built up tension and feels pretty good...oh wait, you are talking about engines. I think capricemgr pretty much covered it.
