Default Question about high milage cars(looking for lt1)

Very soon I'll be getting another z28. Previously I had a 98 m6 and it was a blast. I'll now be getting into a 96-97 z27 m6(I want the OBDII port) but most tend to have high milage, is there anything to look for in higher milage LT1s? Of course I'll be making sure there is no leaks but is there anything else I should be looking out for? Thanks guys!

I would look at the water pump and if it has been weeping then that might mean you would have to replace the opti as well. Other then that and the intake manifold you should be good. The LT1 is a strong long lasting motor. Now that I said that something will happen to mine.

I have had 4 Lt1 Z28's including my current. I had a 94 Z28 that when i sold it it had 184,453 miles on clock. Replaced the Opti and tranny but most other things held up! As long as the car was taken care of it should be good to go! Good Luck!
