I think he's asking about how will it sound when he gets headers. It'll sound raspy=crap without cats. So run a cat to reduce the rasp. If anything, get an electric cut-out. That way you can run it wideopen at the track and close it for street driving.

I have shortys with my wide open borla right now and it sounds sick. My parnets HATE it because it's so loud. Because of my cam when i start it up in the morning it sounds like a drag car for a couple seconds and then just goes to a deep rumble. I always get complements. I have (i think it's called an "I" pipe) One pipe goes thru a cat and the other one bypasses it. I get NO pops, (maybe one or two a MONTH) And man it sounds mean. My parenst can tell when i'm getting off the freeway.
So in conclusion, you'll love it. Maybe a little gain but the sound should blow you away!

i was wondering the same thing about the wheels but back to the borla. i have the open borla and when it cold outside you can see that most of the exhaust is going through the muffler side. is this normal.

Thats true. Because its a straight out pipe more exhuast comes out that side, AND it sounds meaner on that side. But most people won't notice it. Thats why I always wanted true duals. But the borla sounds mean anyways!

You won't really notivr anything if you get a cut out and use the wide open borla. It's like the people that get the cutout and the loudmouth...there is no point. The Borla (wide open) is pretty much that, wide open. By running a cutout all you're really doing is chopping up your exhaust and adding a little Y pipe. Now adding a cutout with the Borla with one of the plates...now you have the luxury of going from your old sound (Borla Wide Open) to a quiter sound (Borla with a plate)

I meant getting an electric cut-out to put inplace of the metal plates in the borla cut-out. That way you can change the sound of the car with a flick of a switch and not have to change the plates by hand.
