any horsepower numbers on 383 with stock heads?
looking for horsepower numbers with 383 stock heads any cam.i have a set of bowl blended heads and was thinking of going 383 bottom end with .575 cam and 230 duration.

You will be absoluteky killing that motor by using stock heads, that thing will need the air flow. You would be really dissappointed to have a stock headed 383 and more than likely get out run by a stock cubic inch, heads, cam, LT1. Save the money and get the heads done otherwise IMO your wasting money.

The stock castings can be a great START for heads for a stroker but without GOOD porting the motor would not perform.
Don't know how much "bowl blending" is going to help.
As was already said power is in the topend you dollar is better spent on heads than a bottomend, both is nice but out of budget for many of us and a heads/cam LT1 can put down enough power to keep most of us happy for awhile anyway.
