lol i have good expirence on this.
1st of all, if you have a engine hoist use that, but if not i just used a block of wood (2x4) and jacked up the motor bout half an inch on the crankshaft hub. Also take off your strut tower bar 1st.
2. Then take out motor mounts.
3. Jack up engine as far as you can go, bout 4-6 inches
4. Undo the 6 K member bolts and drop then down 2-3 inches. DO NOT take the bolts all the way off, just enough for about 2-3 inches.,
5. Take off starter and move it out of way.
6. Undo oil pan bolts
7. remove oil sensor
8. drop pan. May have to do some wiggling.
9. repeat from 9-1.
When lowering the engine back down and getting the motor mount bolts in, lower the jack a little bit till you see the holes line up with the mount. USe flash light if ya can. Then if you cant put the bolt in by hand use a air tool wrench and screw it in. It will go in trust me.
I Had to drop my pan 3 times in 2 weeks. Wasnt fun. Last time i dropped the pan in about 30-45 min.

Nice synopsis. It sounds worse than it is.
Actually I am going to have to do it too but I am waiting till my headers come in. I have a leaking rear main seal and the front of the oil pan gasket is leaking too
