I think you made the classic gearhead mistake and went too big. I know two guys with M6 4.10 f-bodies who put in similar Comp cams to that one sold the car shortly after the other has become a garage queen. The power is great and you will be happy at least for awhile but the compromised drivability is likely to wear you down and you may end up enjoying the car less.

Now if you ported the heads and upped compression you might tame it enough with more lowend to keep you happier longterm and the porting would do wonders for power.

The looks like the 280 XFI; I have one and my car is pretty tame in town, in fact I am wondering if I should have gone BIGGER.

Yeah, I hear ya, but its not a DD so if the daily driveability is affected thats not such a big deal.. i really only take it out when i plan on having some fun so i think this cam is right where i want it.

looks good, but make sure you get some damn good springs that'll handle over .600 lift , depending on your rockers.

its on a 113 lsa so it won't be that bad. I have a 234/242 on a 112 lsa and I don't think its half as bad as people said it was gonna be.

it all comes down to how big of a cam you can live with. some people have a cam that some might say is barely streetable in their daily driver, while others think that their "mild" cam is too aggressive. i reccomend riding in/driving some cammed cars and then deciding what you can live with.

also unless you're heart set on the Comp cam. I reccomend talking with lloyd elliot. you said you plan on getting your heads ported and he does both for a very reasonable price. That way, your heads/cam will match perfectly.
good luck in whatever route you decide to take
