Default Cai

It’s time to get a CAI. Other than the obvious cool looks of the WS6 Ram Air hood, what else should I be considering? Currently, the stock air box is in use.

I couldn't justify spending $200+ for a brand name. I bought one off of ebay for $40 shipped and it performs just as well as any brand name does. Fit just fine too.

This is the one I got:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AIT

After I got home I stuck an old K&N cone on the end of it instead of what it came with.. but after looking at the one it came with it really wouldn't restrict flow any if I had just left it on there.

I looked in to those ebay ones but some people on cz28 said theirs was cut really cheaply and they got metal shavings in their intake.

I checked mine out completely when I got it. Clean as a whistle and it fits just fine. The dude has excellent feedback too.

i bought the same one you got..i put fastracing in my sig but i just realized its the same seller..anyways..mine works just fine as well and gives the cai whistle just like a k&n..im perfectly happy with it versus a expensive one..mine was just like a two hundred dollar piece and was finely done...but mine doesnt have the extension piece to put it down in the fenderwell..mine stops just short..either way that filter flows better than stock

you won't get as much power with the ones that leave the filter in the engine bay because it will draw in warmer air. It's no longer a cold air intake really. I don't know how much the difference would be though and yeah it's definitely still better than the stock intake.

yeah i was a lil disappointed that it didnt go into the fenderwell to pickup cold air as i thought it would but i would just basically need a piece of pipe that was the same size and gave enough length to go into the fenderwell and the piece that connects the two...the name illudes me lol

Definetly a good choice, it made a nice difference for my car and it sounds great too.

i like the slp myself, i think it looks cleaner and it has more area to suck into. I guess the mass flow is the same once it gets to the 3" part but i like the idea of the 2 2.5".

While running through the Summit website, I ran across this: http://www.tdperformance.com/pdfs/44...akesystems.pdf It sure looks just like the Moroso CAI yet only $130.00!

I purchased that one off ebay but i ended up sending it back. Parts just felt like junk plus it didn't fit well, im kinda picky when it comes to stuff like that. I ended up buying a used callaway honker cold air kit.

So I accidently ordered the Moroso CAI. After taking a look at it, I returned it to Summit being that the Trans Dapt number was allready on the way. It showed up. Other than "TD" cast in the plastic, it's exactly the same as the Moroso one. This puppy goes on the car in the AM.
