What is your car doing right now, puffing white smoke and smelling real sweet. Mine did the same thing. Blew a Head Gasket, or cracked a Head. I have the Hotcam Kit, LT4 1.6 RR, Valve Springs, new Auburn Pro Series Posi with 3.73 gears, and some new tires. It will run LS1 Vettes no problem. Changing the rockers will get you some power, if you are $$ limited, then the Cam is alright, but the Rockers and Springs will need to be changed to get it's power. It sounds good too, with the right exhaust.

I have that kit you were talking about. Not bad for $529.95 I haven't had a chance to Dyno it, the Rockers alone are supposed to be 20hp. I am looking into getting some LT4 Heads with Long Tubes when I fix mine. Break **** and upgrade....

where did you hear that with stock internals the most you can do is a lt4 hotcam kit? that is no where near being an acurate statement, not ******* on the lt4 cam but there are many other options you have that can yield much better results. for instance i have stock internals but i have a much bigger cam, heads and full boltons. check out lloyd elliot at www.eportworks.com look at the le1 cam and then talk to him on what supporting mods for your valvtrain that you would need.

I agree with Mark. I went with AI heads and a cam that is much bigger than the hot cam. Now if your not going to port your heads a hotcam, CC 503, CC 305 etc are decent choices.

I was puffing white smoke after a day at the track. Turned out I had a broken head bolt.
Had 4 bolts in total that were corroded, 2 on each head.
I went to the LT4 conversion kit before it was cancelled. The hotcam is pretty good, but eventually you will probably want something with more of a lump to it.

I like the attitude, broke=mod!!!! But I'd go with A better set-up than the hot cam if yur going to do it. Cc305/06 would be nice coupled with some good flowing heads.

If you dont have much money I would go with a used cam, maybe a XE224/230, set of lifters, pushrods, and springs.

This cam makes good power on the stock heads, but still makes a nice gain if you can afford ported heads later on. Or you could swap in a bigger cam when you put the ported heads on.

I have some like new crane lifters i would sell cheap if your interested :ninja:

Anyone know how good the LT4 Hotcam is with the LT4 Heads, or is that part of the conversion kit.

This is my upgrade....
Current situation: 1995 Z28 A4, 100,000 miles, Blown Head Gasket, needs paint job, little **** starting to go.. I am currently sitting in IRAQ making a bunch of money.
UPGRADE: Talking to a guy for a immaculate 1994 Z28 M6 T-Top, 51,000 miles. Stock except for a CAI, and a Hotchkiss Strut Tower Bar. Garage kept and babied. Plan to pick it up when I get back in August, and part out the 1995, switching all the good mods to the 1994 M6.
That is a little bit of an extreme mod for some people, but I see a nice stock Z28 M6, and I smell mods....
