Default Mid length headers

Are these anygood? I have heard alot of bad things about short tubes, my dad has bbk shorties on his 96 ta, and they are good. But I want more power than shorties if mid length do not drag the ground. Does anyone have any pictures of their midlength headrs? Thanks for the help.

A friend of mine has mid lenths, they made decent gains and sounded great, but he ditched them for longtubes in the end. And thats on 15" prostars and eibach lowering springs.

There is a lot of controversy on this site about this subject but the general rule of thumb idea is this that long tubes are the answer to everything and I really have to disagree. Long tube headers increase low and mid RPM torque and power just like long intake runners increase low and mid RPM torque and power. Unlike intake runners however, theres negligible loss in high RPM power when you increase the length of the primary exhaust tubing. Why? Because there is a lot more pressure moving exhaust gasses than there is moving intake gasses. Besides, a little bit of resistance to flow is necessary to prevent over-scavenging the combustion chambers and to prevent shock-cooling of the exhaust valve by the incoming air charge, which damages valves.

Now im not saying that long tubes are a bad choice because there not. There just not for every car.

I have AS&M midlength headers on my car and love them. I made more power on the dyno with these than I did Hooker longtubes. In my opinion, they are great. I really depends on the other mods on the car, if these are right for you.

Mids are better than shorty's and almost as good as LT's. Plus the bonus of ground clearance.

My MAC mids have pretty good clearance, but I "tweaked" the y-pipe when my car bottomed out @ 115 mph. Other than that, I haven't ever had a problem scraping. My car is at stock ride height also.
