AS&M TB
#2
I have the 58mm AS&M on my car, and had the same problem. On the driver side, where the linkage is, there is a metal part and a plastic part. At idle, the metal part is against the stop screw, right? If it is still idling high, try pushing down on the plastic part, and you may realize that it moves down a bit, and the idle settles down. I found the throttle plates are actually connected to the plastic part, not the metal stop. I tried to tighten the center allen bolt, but this didn't seem to help much. What I did, for now, is make sure it was pushed down (throttle closed) and just dripped some super glue on it, letting it seep down between the metal and the plastic. It seems to be holding fine for now, but I may drill a small hole and put in a bolt or a cotter pin one day soon.
