Default slipping clutch

While installing my new clutch i think i might have gotton grease from my hands onto the clutch. its slipping like crazy, i get no grip at all if i punch it shifting into second. its a rebuilt clutch with a kevlar(sp?) surface. will the grease eventually burn off? if not what are my options? do i have to get a new clutch plate?

I have heard that some of the Kevlar Clutches have a tendency to slip..

I dont believe you have to get a new clutch plate, break it in and see if that helps at all, otherwise you can always try brake cleaner.

We have done that when the clutch won't disengage all the way. Never heard of it for slipping..

If you hammer on Kevlar before its broke in it will glaze and fail.
It takes 500 miles or granny driving for the process to occur.
