Strange LT1 problem!
Ok this is on my old car which I sold to a good friend of mine, its a 94 Caprice 9C1, LT1 no mods at all.
Sunday we were hanging out at a park and had the car on but not running so we could listen to the stereo for several hours (in case this makes a difference). Then latter on we got on the highway and drove for over half an hour with no problems.
Then after getting off the highway it starts acting like it's skiping or running out of fuel or something. We limped it home and when we opened the hood the passenger side exhaust manafold was glowing orange.
The damn opti-spark is about done on this car, and I think its the culprit. But before I tell my friend to replace it I wanted to ask around.
Thanks, John

Ok, I thought it might be a cat too, but theres another strange symptom I forgot to mention.
We let the car cool down, then started it up, ran fine for 15min until it heated up again. Then it would start acting up again. We had to do that a few times to get the car back to his house.
Would a cloged cat cause that?
