Ok that was a huge joke just because I am trying to get some humor at this late hour after reading some of the more retarded threads in this section. The TA comes with more options, a larger spoiler, a different front fascia. The forumla is lighter, and is basically a v6 firebird with a LT1 stuffed in it. Hope that shed some light on it.

The differences are only cosmetic.
The drivetrain, motor and axle's are the same. Even the gears, depending on its options and whether its an A4 or M6.
FWIW, A Formula with every option ( WS6, Ram Air, Leather,Tops,Monsoon, 17" Wheels, etc...) is worth more than a Trans Am with the same options because its way more rare.
The WS6 and Ram air ( WS6 is a suspension package, and is totally seperate from Ram Air.... You can buy a TA/Formula and have one without the other )

The Formula and Trans Am can be had with the SAME options. The Trans Am has ground effects, a different front end with fog lights, and a high rise spoiler. Hence a higher cost and is heavier than the Formula. The Formula "looks" the same as a V6 Firebird, but by no means could you "hustle" someone in thinking that it is a regular V6 Firebird even by removing the "Formula" decals.
Since when could you buy a 4th gen Ram Air without the WS6 package? You can't have one without the other.

"WS6 Handling Package" includes some minor suspension stuff and ram air hood
Formula is more of a sleeper as noted, looks like a V6 except for some minor badging that can easily be removed. Main distinguisher is the TA has a high-rise spoiler.
WS6 Formula slightly destroys the sleeper effect, because you can't buy a WS6 V6
