Nothing.

Dont run spacers or it will be bad news. I lost 2 wheels running a 5/16th spacer up front with 3.5 Prostars.

Tony.

Actually if you run the RIGHT spacers there are no problems I know alot of road racers who run them

For my ET street Wheels i have to run 1in spacers. My Bogarts($855 a set of two BTW) have them welded on. I may see about having that done to the front wheels to

I run a 5/16" spacer up front with my 15x3.5" weld prostars. I didnt have to touch the caliper. It was hitting on the brake pad clip. I put on new rotors and pads at the same time, so I'm sure thats why it was hitting.

I dont see a problem running a spacer up front as long as you get longer wheel studs and use the correct lugs. A few people try to run them with stock studs and they dont have enough threads to hold and will strip out and you may loose a wheel, or two. So do your research, buy the right parts, and you will have no problems.

Amen.

Most of the problems stem from running a spacer on the stock length wheel stud. It may work, but your pushing you're luck by doing so most of the time.

I have the LS1 upgrade and I was wondering how much of a difference that would make.

Only if someone grinds waaayyy to much. To clear welds you're just grinding some of the fins - it's not going to hamper braking.

The fins arent for structural rigidity, just for heat dissipation. (If he has LS1 brakes) Otherwise (with lt1 brakes) you wont have your caliper crack unless your grind to the extreme, which he wont be.

On my 93 Z28 I ran 3-1/2" Weld draglites up front with a 5/32" spacer and 2.67" x 12mm-1.5 studs, with knurled base, P/N ARP-100-7708 - worked great.

I ground the fins on the rear calipers and used 3" long studs. I was running a strange 12 bolt, so I was able to go with 1/2" screw in" studs p/n MOR-46200

Ls1 brakes take much more grinding to get them down to par.

On my 95 I ran weld 1pc forged Alumastar 2.0 3.5 inch wheels. Longer studs required as is different style lug nuts. No grinding No spacers -Knocked off two tenths in quartermile!
