Default MY CAR-The Bolt on Car

IF ANYONE wants the parts run down on the car I can provide. (or do a search for my screen name, it has all been listed)

Since some do not believe that it didn't have the stock clutch in it for all the record setting runs EXCEPT the 11.80 pass (remember, every pass it made before 3/25/06 it was record breaking), it had a stage 3 Spec DISC and stock PP/TOB/etc/plus lighter than previous runs and I can show you a pic that it was not even grabbing properly, just think if it had grabbed!?!?!?

And some are right, my car was not consistant with the M6, it actually got quicker as more passes we made. I guess that sort of sucks for those that cant run the M6. (BTW- I KNOW I cant run the M6, that is why Russ was the driver).

Watch this video, you tell me if you can tell if it is an M6 or Auto car: http://media.putfile.com/Herron-Performance
This is typical of all of Russ's driving.

This car is an open book, you ask and I will tell, I have nothing to hide, the car is what it is. And when you get ready to run better than the avg you can look me up, the combo is repeatable, Russ and I have several cars that we have worked with that run exceptional for what they have done to them. IF you want those examples we can provide those too. READ alot BUT dont believe all the magazines and internet BS. Decide on a goal and do what it takes to get there. BUT find out who is actually meeting the goals you have and talk to them. You can not go anywhere with out a destination and compromises will kill ya.....

Oh I beleive you, most aftermarket stuff is all jazz, very few are true upgrades. I just picked up a clutch and PP and I went with a Valeo, end of story and when I get my 9 inch I may upgrade the clutch alone, to either Ram or Mcleod, why'd u go with spec?? seen some pictures man and the springs can fall out!!! to me that's just incredible, high prices plus big claims, and yet ppl who see big failures!!
Nice run, looks like your burning good, who tuned your PCM? plz don't say stock. I'd like to come close to those times NA with a ZZ4 cam someday, then install NOS. ANd be happy.

I do my own tuning so it has the Herron Performance tune in it.
Spec b/c it was here.

And the pricing of Spec is respectable when comparing to those other brands.

So your dyno'd and tailor tuned accordingly?? Do you feel this is a key component? I've got PCMforLess tuning cuz I just can't afford dyno time. But am fairly happy with it, altho I burn kind or rich.

I've considered investing on a wideband sensor, then doing a datalog and then sending the log to someone to burn a chip for me, but I've never heard of anyone willing to tune using a customers datalog, I figure using a wideband would yield the equivalent of a dyno, so long as some one is willing to tune a pcm file based on my data. You think setting something like this up would give good results?

Do you think a Ford 9 inch robs to much HP?? I hear it soaks up a lot of hp. But I personally prefer it becuz I never hear horror stories about it, also I'd like to eventually have 2 center sections to swap between.

It seems a lot of your performance came from weight reduction. Let me get this straight ... this was done on STOCK heads and cam? Bolt ons only?

All my tuning is from datamaster logs and MPH readings at the track. this car has never been near a dyno
Tuning of the PCM and suspension is key.
ALSO, watch the weather.

Weight is your ememy.
STOCK everything.
But for an example of another car that is running well with only minimum weight reduction is Jeff G's his 97 T/A with OBDI PCM and my tuning is running 8.0s/85, he has removed rear seats/jack/spare/rear bumper supports. 4.10s gears in 10bolt, Th350/3000 Vig Stall. Larger rear sway bar. No headers yet....much less any other good mods...

We all know you're the man on the bolt-on LT1, Shon..There's no doubt about it..I know you could come up here and beat the fastest SI LT1 by over 1/2 a second... Is someone trying to make you out to be a liar or in disbelief of your work? I'm confused as to why an aftermarket clutch wouldn't be considered a bolt-on.
