Gas Mileage/Operating Temps
If I got off my lazy *** and got my manual fan switches wired up * currently running stock tune on a 160stat * and kept the car around 160-180 degrees, would that improve my MPG or worsen in?
ALSO, I've asked the following question numerous times, and no one will answer it, everyone gives me the run around or tells me to get a tune, IM NOT YET... I have !AIR headers, stock tune, so I have a SES light. NOW, does having that SES light effect performance, OR MPG in anyway?
THANKS in advance.

the hotter the motor the better gas mileage you get, i mean operating temp that is. anywhere from 200-220. no it shouldnt make it any slower, your computer only goes into closed loop safety mode when something like a TPS sensor goes bad or something. anything that would potentially hurt the motor. any emissions codes wont slow ya down. run the codes and see what you get.

Your ses light isn't hurting you per say but if you did get a tune you could probably pick up a little more power and even possible increase your mpg. My buddy had headers on his f-body and then finally got a madz28 tune for it just a few weeks ago and after he got his tune he gained more power and started getting a little bit better mpg too. Tune definately won't hurt anything and isn't too expensive.

First of all can everyone post some statistics to why a hotter engine gets better gas milage? I understand combustion etc but what is the optimal temp and who wants to back up thier post?
As for the SES light find out what the light is for and that will tell you if it's effecting performance or not.
