Ok, right now, I have two ignitions in my possession. An MSD 6AL which is already on the car *car's in pieces* and an MSD 6 BTM *with the adjustable boost retarder*. Which one would you use with a blower setup? Also, what is needed to make the MSD 6 BTM work? thanks!

I think they have to work in conjunction with one another. The MSD6AL is the actual ignition amplifier while the BTM advances and retards timing based on boost PSI.

Hi Guys-

Use the MSD 6BTM for blower application. Its got the same guts/power as the 6AL but with the additional boost retard function. It will pull timing per pound of boost. It is adjustable, 0° per pound of boost to 3° per pound (up to 15°).

Hope that helps-

Ah, I guess the BTM is a stand-alone!

I'm holding in my hand in the picture of the MSD 6 BTM a weird harness that came on my ignition. I bought it used and it came with another harness, what do I need to make it work with my lt1? How do I install it exactly?

See if that harness you have will interface with your coil. If it does, it makes the box easy to install. The wires from the box should snap onto that harness wires coming out from the middle, the harness splices inbetween your coil connection. Do you have single or dual connector coil?

Check this link:
