Funciton yes. But i dont think borla sells the 2 chamber muffler alone, of course im talking out of my *** because i havent looked. The flowmaster is a crossflow muffler meaing the exhaust crosses paths with each other before coming out of the outlets. The borla has a 3 plates you can put in on the I or intermidiate pipe that can open the flow of exhaust that goes in the muffler.
For example you put 0 plates in and little to no exhasut goes in the muffler it all comes out the 1 tailpipe if you put all 3 plates in the exhaust will go through the muffler. So then will come out 2 tips.

I absolutly love the sound of my borla with no plate. Even more so now that I put in a test pipe (cat-delete). The sound without the cat is an aquired taste I guess cause I have some friends who say its a lil loud but I wouldn't want the car to sound any other way cause it just sounds like a whole hell of a lot of bad *** muscle.

Just for the record. Backpressure does NOT make power, never has never will. I have done tons of research on exhaust engineering and I've learned this: Sometimes smaller pipe or full exhaust is better because it will help the exhaust "scavenge" or pull the exhaust from the motor, instead of letting the motor do all the pushing. If pipe diameter is too large and the motor isnt big enough to warrant it, it will let the exhaust cool down more in the pipe, slowing the velocity of the air within, in turn costing you power. I understand why everyone thinks its backpressure, but just trying to shed some light on it.

Yup.
I may put my number 2 plate in today and see how it sounds.

Back when I had the Borla cat-back on my old '00 Z28 (yes, an LS1, but same logic applies here), I honestly could not tell any bit of difference in volume or tone when running the plate with the smallest whole all the way to not running any plate at all (wide-open). Hard to believe for some I'm sure, but seriously, it sounded nearly identical either way inside & out of the car...

I don't think you can say one is really better than the other with just that.
