Default just wondering what this means

hi i new to this site i was looking at a 95 trans am that i was going to buy
it had theys to red strips on the driver side fender ive seen them on corvette
befor just wonring if it means anything thank

Don't think there was a one side stripe pkg that was GM unique as for mods or anything. Any pics of the car?

No, they were on the Grand Sport Corvette. It's just for decoration.

Actually, those stripes were used for identification by REAL race teams. When a team had more than one car entered in a race, and they were all painted in the team colors, crew members and/or spotters needed a quick way to identify the different team cars while at speed. The colored "hash marks" seemed to be the accepted way to go.

As NoFiveo said, on the street, they're just for decoration.
