Default Vibration w/ LT Headers

well i got some pretty good vibration coming from my driver side header. it only happens at generally low rpm's when you gas on it just a little more than normal. i mean if you slightly press the gas just enough to go, then it wont vibrate, but anymore than that you get some vibration. and i looked under the hood and couldnt really see what it was touching. i just saw it was really really close to the steering column. so i was wondering if anyone else has experienced this before with Long Tubes. thanks a lot. Dan

or your motor mounts are old/saggy causing your LT's to rub/vibrate on your k-member/chasis

my 96 t-a is doing the same thing could be two things 1 need to add some extra bracing on your driver side y-pipe under your seat area a section of the unibody is getting hit by it 2 motor mounts my be worn allowing the motor to pickup under throttle and pick up the header and hitting the underbody

well i finally got up under my hood to check out the header bolts. and i have no rear driver side header bolts. so the 2 in the very back arent even there. now i have to find out if they broke off or if they were never there. hopefully when i get those in there some of the problems will be fixed. do yall have any suggestions on this matter. thanks a lot.

LOL yeah bolts can't really go bad unless you strip em. The reason why you lost the last two is they most likely vibrated out. It happens. It's why I splurged and ended up getting the Breslin Split-Lock Header Bolts they cost frickin 87.00 but they will never come loose

You can't use lock tite due to the fact that when it heats up it will warp the plug hole and cause loss of compression through the hole.

From experience DO NOT use ARP header bolts. They come loose ALL the time and are JUNK. Get some of those stage 8 locking header bolts and you'll be set. Go to ARPs site and they have the thread size listed for our cars.

dont use any thread lock either by stage 8 stainless bolts with the locks which are a pita to put on or buy some breslin bolts which screw in and then have a center to screw in with an allen like a drywall screw then neither of those can back out.

All they did was backout..header bolts do it all the time. Get some lockwashers.
