Default Powdercoating waterpump?

Has anyone done it to a stock unit? besides the outer plate gasket and the o-ring on the drive shaft itself, is there any other gaskets i have to worry about? will it warp the aluminum? thanks all

No it will not warp it since it evenly heats the intake.

still Im not too keen about having our stock waterpumps powdercoated. 400+ degrees for x amount of minutes is some serious heat when curing powder... i've seen a few people do it and not have problems, so go for it if you wish

It blows my mind that cast aluminum can come out looking like that.

I powdercoated mine 3 years ago bright red and it still looks new. No problems. I have a meziere instead of the stock internals if that makes a difference.

Mines powdercoated metallic silver... No problems here, other than having to remove some of the coating from places it should never have been. (dipshit powdercoaters!)

96silverram-
You are a sick bastard! It looks beautiful btw.
How did you get those steel hose nipples to shine like that, they're not stainless are they?

if take it completely apart and rebuild it then I would suggest ceramic coating the casing or something, if not then i would recommend just sticking with paint. I know someone who has a ceramic coated housing and electric water pumps for sale, one with a mezier one with a CSR, PM me if interested

No one makes a rebuild kit for an LTX waterpump, otherwise you'd be seeing a lot more powdercoated stock mechanical pumps
