it starts great when cold soild but after you run it for awhile and you go to start it its hard to explan but it pings right after you start it, my stock motor did it too but less. is there something i can do or tune that will help it?

Are you sure it is detonation (ping)? Could it be another ringing sound? Are you seeing any knock retard if you throw a scan tool on it?

try higher octane and see if it goes away

i did put some octane booster and still there, I did have it on the datamaster and it does not retard at idle. I wil have to see if it will scan at start up.
