Lt1 QRT mile times?
After some research it seems that quite a few lt1s in the 400 hp range are nocking down quarter mile times in the 11s weheras other cars with that much are solid 12 second cars. Why is that? Is it simply because of the tremendous low end torque of the cars themselves. thanks.

It depends on so many variables. There's the variables you cant control like the weather, da, track conditions, etc. Then there are the things you can control that play a huge part in your times like, DRIVER, wieght, tune, suspension, knowing the car, etc. Hp numbers are not a end all. They can be very deciving. I know guys with mid 300rwhp camaros sporting a 12 bolt with 4.10's, meaty slicks, th400, and 5000 stall running 10's. Figure out why he's running tens then youll understand a whole lot more. I judge a car a little more on it's mph in the 1/4 mile. That tells you alot. My mustang with the old motor would run 13's @ 112+. See what I mean.

I make 380 on motor and the car weighed in at 3600 lbs me in it when it ran its best of 12.1@116. 60ft was a 1.8x traction is horrible on a lowered, 17" tire, f-bod car.
