95 to 96
What is the differance in a 95 and 96 computer? The reason is for HP Tuners, it is for 96 up. My computer looks like a 96 and has a spark module like it, can I modify my comp. or change it to a 96 model computer I understand it would have to be programmed to a 96 model.

If you have a 95 computer, it makes no sense to change to a 96... at all... unless you're having high stall torque converter problems (that's another topic).
OBD1 stuff is less expensive for programming. LT1Edit or Tunercat for programming, and the PCMcomm, Freescan, or Datamaster for scan tools. For a cable, myself (at http://www.akmcables.com ) or Craig (at http://www.moates.net ) both have cables that work with the OBD1 LT1 cars (you'd need an OBDII-style cable for a 95).
The 95 computer is GM service number 16188051. The 96 computer is 16214399. You cannot tell the difference just by looking at the computer, unless you have the sticker on the outside. Inside, the circuit boards are different - but the cases are identical.
