Default Thermistat What temp. should I use?

All right guys a quick question. I just did all the stuff listed below and gave my car a tune up. While I was at it I just got a new water pump and replaced it as well so I don't have to worry about it. Now I need a thermistat. Now I have hear different things. Some say 160 degree T.stat is the best and does not require a computer change. Some others say that the 160 require computer changes and are more a pain the @$$ then there worth.

So I would like every ones oppinon and if u have use a 160 how does it work and is it worth it?

well in my opinion it is worth it, it runs your car alot cooler..if you dont want to get it comp tuned you could always get a manual swith to turn on your fans, cause thats all the tune is doing

You do not need a tune with a 160 stat in the sense that it will work just fine without one, but it's not going to cool the car any better without changing the fan temps (or getting a manual switch).

You DO need a Custom tune to change the Temp setting in the LT1's PCM.

Get a fan switch, or get a 160 Stat and Tune.
