Default LT1 fuel pumps

I'm looking at getting a new fuel pump. I was planning on buying the Granatelli 255lph. Over in the nitrous thread they recommended Walbro or racetronix, but no one can tell me a part number or if they are bolt in replacements like the granatelli. What are some of the pumps you guys are running?

Someone over there said the first time you do the trap door method you still have to drop the tank, but I see no reason why you would have to do that?

Any problems with the granatelli? For now I'm just going to run a 100 dry shot from a zex kit.

the trap door is up to you... dropping the tank takes some work but still can be done on a garage floor... its up to you...

What do you need the wiring and stuff for that come with the kit. Could oyu just buy the pump and wiring for 160 and be set.

harvickgm~ what do you mean "TRAP DOOR"? Is it cut a hole in the back hatch instead of dropping the rear end and tank? I'm thinking my pump may be going bad so i was wondering the ways and tricks to do it.~Cole~

The Granatelli will be a very similar pump BUT WILL NOT fit as well as the Racetronix and get the Racetronix wiring too.
Basically all the "dropin" performance pumps are Walbros just reboxed, Racetronix goes the extra mile to make them fit better though.

Dont bother buying that kit. You'd be paying racetronix to send you a Walbro 255lph pump kit with some wires. Believe me, with some creative searching you can get the same stuff for about half the price... Check out APEusa.com... Thats where I bought my pump 2 years ago and they were the cheapest then.

Well by reading what i have i think the racetronix is a better deal but i am still wondering what all the wiring is for exactly. doesn't the 160 kit just drop in and plug in like the OEM.

the plug n play kit is exactly what it is, it make the install much easier. and plus it actually boost pump voltage under WOT to get the most fuel when needed... if you look on there website they have some test information they did on an LS1 car with the pump and shows that under WOT it will produce more fuel with the harness, cuz it pulls direct power from the alt... and for 250, that to me is a pretty damn good price...

I've decided I will probably pick up the racetronix kit, I don't feel like playing with wires. Also over in the nitrous section they mention something about the pump not installing right or something if you just buy the walbo pump.

I'm running a 100hp Wet shot w/ NOS fogger and jets- no problems with that yet, but i think the stock injectors are maxed out in my application- so i was thinkin of going with the racetronix complete package listed above.. Everyone i've talked to has said that is the way to go . and to purchase the wiring harness too..

Good luck with it man..

The weatherproof wiring upgrade you could not build comparable quality for the price they sell it for, it really does help get more volatage to the pump, the stock wiring is too small for how long it is.
