Default 1.6 Crane Rocker Clearance

Did anyone have a problem with the valve covers with roller rockers?

if so what did you do to fix the problem.

I do not want to relocate the alternator.

The problem isn't with the cranes it's with the comp pro mags, or I should say I have never read about a clearence problem with the cranes.

Also are the 1.6 Roller rockers Worth it on a Stock Lt1 motor?

Gives a higher lift right

Will I even notice a difference, or is it more or a wear n tear mod?

I'm running the 1.6 promagnums. I'm happy with them, but well the car was only running 100% for 2 days before I had to leave, so yeah....

I don't know if its true with the other companies roller rockers, but with the comps you have to grind down the support looking deals. you don't have to cut them out, just grind them down flat. I also took a little metal off of the top insides, made the ridges a little flatter, but something tells me you don't have to flatten those also, I just did it cause I was having fun with my new rotary tool.

Its probably worth it on a stock motor....to go with longtubes as a poor-man's cam change, but you will need to change out the valvesprings as the extra lift will bind the stock springs.

How much of a power gain could I expect?

Probably nothing over 5hp right?

The only rockers that need valve cover clearancing are the PRO Mags because they are a wide body RR. Cranes and the GMPP rockers are narrow body RRs and most of the time do NOT have clearance issues. Only clearancing that needs done is usually bending the "L" shaped support brackets straight, and crushing the oil baffle on passenger side.
