8 second 0-60? WTF?
I've always felt like my car should be a little faster than it is. I confirmed this today Today at work, I got to drive an Infinity G35. They put 87 octane in it so the thing doesn't even perform as well as it can, but it still felt like it could rip my car apart. This thing planted me back in the seat unlike my car. I finally decided to time my Trans Am in a 0-60 run and it took 8 f*cking seconds. What could possibly be causing this? I can't even blame it on traction since I hooked pretty well. I don't get it. The stock 0-60 time is around 5.5 seconds. My car has a CAI, cat back and I've ripped almost 100lbs out of it and I'm running it in 8 seconds?

have you raced other lt1 cars? had it dynoed? taken it to the track?
you have a six speed maybe you cant launch it well enough or maybe you didn't time it right could be pretty much anything to make you think your car is slower than it is
i really wouldn't worry about it take it to the track or the dyno and you'll know if you have something wrong

Yeah. SOTP dyno can be off for many reasons. You can get in a stock car with a 5000 stall and 4.56 gears and will pee yourself during take off but run 13's lol.

Tony.
Tony.
I didn't literally time myself. How the **** could I watch the road and the speedometer at the same time?
I'm getting ready to order 4.10's and a full exhaust set up. I'm going to change the plugs and wires plus upload a mail order tune from PCM For Less. I also want to add a TA Performance rear girdle. After that, I'll try to get down to a track. I'm hoping for at least a 13.5 or 13.4 after that. I imagine I should add a panhard bar, LCA's and relocation brackets too.

There's a gas station up the street from me and one of the mechanics there owns an LT1 Trans Am. Maybe I should drop it off to him. He's had an LT1 Corvette, Camaro SS and two TA's. If anyone would know what's wrong, it would be him...I hope.

Unfortunately I've never been to a track, never had the car dyno tested and I've never drag raced anyone. I have nothing to compare it to. I think I'm going to ask the mechanic I was talking about to drive my car. He lives a block away from me. I'll ask him what feels like it's off if I run into him.

Do plugs and wires that is the best thing you can do to a LT1. I have 96LT1 that did the samething and I did a simple tune up and had MadZ28 do a tune on my car. I love my lt1 now and I hate to do it but I have to sell it cuz I need something with more space. Yup have a kid and a wife so it is time to say good by to the T/A.
