I once broke two water pump shafts back to back on a Gen 1 350. I paid a lot closer attention when I put it back together the second time, and found a bent pulley. After replacing the pulley, I never had any more troubles with it.

its happened to me before.. i was doing donuts on some old crappy nittos and the shaft snapped in half and power steering fluid went everywhere and the belt popped off all frayed and stuff so i jsut got a new pump and pulley and belt.. works fine now.

had it happen on an old work truck years ago broke the fan and shroud i keep on driving till i got it back to the farm i worked at i was to embarrassed to stop it was a real piece of junk, funny thing about it my boss sold it 2or3 months later the guy who bought it spent 2 years restoring it and won several trunk shows with it
