What size dowel on my cam?
Alright I have a a cam from a 96 Trans Am that I want to put in my 94 T/A. I know the dowel pins on 95's and up are longer because of the opti's being different. So what size does the pin need to be? How much do I need to grind down for it to work in my 94?

Is this a factory 1996 cam you're installing, or aftermarket?
The simple solution would be to measure the dowel on your factory 1994 camshaft when you remove it, and match that to the new camshaft. I no longer have my factory cam, but I believe it should be around ~.310".

Yes, it'll work. You can use a 1995+ camshaft on a pre-1995 vehicle, but not the other way around.
That is, you can use a 1995+ camshaft in a 1994 by shortening the dowel pin, but you cannot use a 1994 camshaft in a 1995+ vehicle due to the design of the vented optispark and enlarged cam snout opening. There's a stabilizing shaft on the rear of the vented optispark which won't fit in the smaller 1994 cam snout opening.
