estimated HP gain
I plan to cut off my cat and place a cutout with an electronic opener in its place what RWhp gain would i see with this and my current mods with the cutout open.

Some seem to dyno like 10+ rwhp w/ open cutout and similar mods, some only like 1-5 rwhp. I suspect it may cause some false knock and or cause some tune issues for some that hampers the potential gain.
I'm personally not a fan of cutouts, makes the car sound a heck of lot more serious than the actual power output can back up usually... Maybe that's a stupid way to look at it...

IMO just do a good exhaust system really wont cost that much more than electric cutouts.
My Caprice runs 12s in the worst summer weather Wisconsin has to throw at it with a raceweight with me of about 4250lbs. belt on no light rims or anything street rims with slicks, think most of you will agree that takes a decent amount of power. My car is actually fairly quiet even, 2.5" the whole way x-pipe, Dynomax UltraFlo mufflers and resonators. Dropping the catback netted a few hundredths and less than 1mph. So just do the exhaust system right unless obnoxious noise is the real intent then a cutout is hard to beat.

Not as good as that fairly quiet but obviously not stock grandpa car that mops the floor with them. I have video of me beating a sprayed LS1 f-body, he ran 12.4 to my 12.6 BUT he was so busy with the lighted purge out the ramair hood I beat him at the tree. Now that had to be embarassing yes he ETed slightly better but still showing off the juice like he was and then loosing to an NA whale of a car like mine with an antiquated LT1. Unfortunately that was one of the runs I had the headers open for testing would have been even better had my car been quiet on that pass.
I figure swapping on the slicks is enough hassle I don't need to fiddle with the exhaust and the money saved not buying electric cutouts goes toward more productive and always enjoyable speed parts.

im getting 3 bolt flanges put on my cat and the same flanges on a 3in pipe with a cut out on it...that way i can cruise around without the cat...open up the cut out for the track...or put on the the cat and change to the stock pcm tune when i get it smogged. my exhaust shop is doing it for just over $100. cutouts are good for knockin off .3 in the 1/4 you could always get two and put one right after each header if you want...
