I've got a pair of pacesetters too. Most people, like me, would say the gaskets suck. They even look like cardboard. I don't know about the header bolts though. I went ahead and got ARP stainless steel header bolts. About $15 if you don't mind that.
As for tips, there are many things you need to do or might not need to do. Its always different on other lt1s. Sometimes they slide right in, sometimes you need to jack up the motor. I don't want to say any tips cause this thread will turn into 7 pages. Search this forum and see what people said. I even started a thread like that, so search my 'threads started.'

the gaskets are CRAP that come with them. They are basically toilet paper in layers. The hardware i wouldn't use either. I went and got the same arp header bolts but they kept backing out on my brother but not mine so watch them. I heard that stage 8 locking header bolts were the best. Getting them in depends on the vehicle. it may have to have the motor jacked up and it may not. This depends on how true your car is body wise. If it has a twist or has been wrecked it is going to be a little harder.

I went with the ARP 3/8''x 1.00'', 5/16'' 12-Point Head for my header bolts. The smaller heads make it easier to get a wrench in there and tighten them down. Also you should tighten down the bolts once a week for about a month, and they should finally set in, and not backout anymore. Also went with the Felpro header gaskets.

Driver side went in through the top and passenger side went in through the bottom for me. The gaskets mine came with were solid copper, but I got some better ones(Felpro). For bolts I bought Split-lock bolts. 3/8" 12-point head with a allen bolt in the middle that you turn after putting the bolt into the head all the way which slightly expands the end of the bolt which means it wont back out because it cant turn. I also got 1 12" and 1 24" Casper Electronics O2 wiring harness extension.
