Default Good cam choice?

Whatever I choose will be going in my 96 T/A. It has stock heads on a basically stock motor.

1. 240/246 duration,109 lsa, .590/.610 lift with 1.6 rockers

2. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GM-LT...QQcmdZViewItem

Which one of those is better fit for my set up. Im looking for good daily driving with decent power and a good choppy idle.

The first one would be a horrible choice for what you are asking for, the second one just marginal but overly popular anyway.

out of those choices i would recomend the hot cam for you, But their are better cams for stock heads. That big cam you have listed wont do **** for you because the heads dont flow enough. I have heard great things out of a comp cams 503, I believe. I always felt the by time you bought the cam and all the valve springs to go with it you might as well just buy a heads cam package that has the correct springs, retainers, locks already assembled, and save yourself the hassle.

Out of "those two" I would go with the hot cam. #1 is WAY too much cam for a stock motor. However the hot cam is old technology, there a much better cams available today. For a mild street car a hot cam would be good though. I though about getting one myself.

I think he means Combination Motorsports...I wouldn't pigeon hole yourself into either of those...There's lots more that will work to fit your stock heads...You should talk to several people who run similar combinations like the guy above...

I bet you jacked compression to get there though which would also signifigantly improve drivability, he can't do that if staying with stock heads and shortblock.
