Default tune for gas mileage and performance?

Wow! I have been reading how people have been getting much better gas milage with a tune. I was wondering, what the tune changes besides timing to get better gas milage? Does timing make the difference? I will include a list of small mods I have done and was wondering if it is even worth tuning a near stock car?

K&N CAI
Airfoil
Magnaflow catback
TB bypass

planning a 3.73

95 T/A M6

thanks guys...still learning, they are different than the GM v-6s I am used to

From what I understand the stock tune is more for emmisions which does equal to great gas milage

so a tune for a almost stock car will most likey eliminate some of the emissions stuff and help out performance and gas milage?

the stock tune is very rich at higher throttle, and some have been known to see a MPG improvement with headers and a CAI, over those 2 without a tune. But this was on caprices. PCMforLess can do wonders for every aspect of performance.

Well my car is not exatly stock but bryan from PCM4LESS did amazing things with my car. Before i went to him the car was not running that great. Was running OK but not 100%. After the tune the car simply runs like a raped ape now. I met him in person very nice guy and will answer any questions you have for him. It's def. worth getting the tune.

Look into some mid length headers, you will still pass emissions with them..

bolt? I really dout it. chances are you will have to chop a section out, and put new reducers on it.

When you upgrade exhaust, headers, intake, etc... they flow more air and seem to run rich. A tune for one would lean it out, runs better and better mpg because it won';t be wasting fuel.

Funny cause I once had my car tuned by him and my gas mileage went from 15mpg around town to 10mpg and my idle was so high that my car like took off when I let off the brakes. He never got back to me when I tried contacting him. He def aint touching any computer of mine ever again.
