Default OEM shiftkit

I have a button in my car that says trans perform, it makes the car shift faster, and will chirp the tires in 2nd gear with it on. Was this an option with these cars ot not? It looks like it is stock the way it is put in there.

The performance shift button was there from the factory. It was only available on the firebirds, camaros are always in performance shift mode.

Thought it was factory, my buddy said it wasnt.....But I never use it, really only drove it back and forth to work.

How come the camaros are always in that mode, and not the formulas? Is it an option you have to pay for or was it standard?

It uses different shift tables in the PCM. I've seen the tables in TunerCat. I've modified my (performance only, I've got a Camaro) tables for improved shift, and it is possible to make some serious difference in shifts... but like any tuning stuff, you can also screw stuff up but good.

The button switches between the tables.
