lt1edit or tunercat

lt1edit or tunercat
I was wondering which one is more user friendly as I haven't any experiance in messing with such things. Which one has more options, is either really better than the other? At the start I just want to delete my egr crap out and such as I'm looking at getting longtubes, adjusting speedometer for 4.10 gears and my wheel/tire combo, then later on down the road trying my luck at tuning things. Thanks -Corey

lt1edit is a little easier to navigate.
tuner cat has more fields you can edit, works on multiple cars, and is cheaper.
i have both and after using tuner cat for awhile i havent gone back to lt1edit.
are you planning on more mods? with having to by a cable, software and sometimes a laptop its cheaper to go with a mail order tune if your not planning on more mods.
if you are planning on modding alot in the future you will save money in the long run with getting the software and tuning yourself.

as said above, tuner cat is def. cheaper and it is easy to use. just read up on the different fields that you can change before you start tuning.... and as for a ceble, i found a schematic online on how to build my own cable.... i spent 5 bucks at radio shack and built a cable that works great. so i have a total of about 80 dollars into my tuning setup and it works really well.

if you have the cable and lap top go with tuner cat and u will be able to dial in your nitrous set up with no problems. it is really easy to adjust WOT air/fuel ratios and timing with Tuner Cat. all u need is a good data logging software program and a wide band O2 and you're set.

TC used to have an unlocked obd2 but they sold it to JET who killed it and replaced it with a vin locked version.

You need:
Cable, to communicate between car and laptop
Scanning/logging software, to view and record realtime engine conditions to see where you are and what your tuning changes did for you.
Tuning software, to make changes to the tuning code
Strongly suggested: Wideband oxygen sensor, preferably one that can feed data to the scanner/logger program along with all the other information so it can be viewed alongside recorded parameters like throttle position, MAP, spark advance, injector duty cycle, etc.
Usually included in the tuner: a way to read the code from your PCM, and a way to write the modified code back into the pcm in the car.
Also STRONGLY suggested:
Very strong understanding of two things:
1) How changes to various parameters will affect the way your car runs
2) If you program your car, you run the risk of destroying your engine and PCM... and that risk is hugely greater if you don't know what you are doing.

Yep, thats why I just want it for now to adjust my speedometer, and hopefully within a few months chop out all the AIR and EGR codes as when I get longtubes I'm going to scrap all that useless junk.
I'll ask for some advice to tune it up for the nitrous, I'm sure not going to go changing stuff as soon as I get it.
