does this effect the idle, lope?

112 is going to be more lopey, the Torque will be lower in the powerband.

114 will leave a whole lot of power on the table but you will be able to run that big duration cam without the bad manners then again you wont get the big power either.

They offer 114 because people still make the number one hotrodding mistake and want too big a cam, the exessivly wide LSA tames it and the customer does not bitch about bad manners and is too ignorant to know they have nowhere near the power they should have so they are happy.

I would venture to say most of the standout heads cam setups are using cams with LESS than 112, yes they lope more but they back up the mean sound with nasty performance.

Emmisions is about the only reason I would go as wide as 112 on a NA LT1.

All that said LSA should be a product of a properly speced cam not a spec set from the start but generally 112 is already a compromise made to emmisions.

i am a true fan of 110 but have made good power with 112

what about 113 LSA?
and more lift on the intake valve then the exhaust valve?

I second that motion, love the 110 but had great results with the GM-847 112lsa.
