need a little tutoring from you veterans
ok...so i have a 96 lt1 and i need to pull the heads off so i can bring them to a mechanic and have him put a set of valve springs put on. i know, you can do the whole air compressor thing, but i kinda just wanna learn how to pull a set of heads off. im only 17 yrs. old and have no real experience. i dont think i'll ever learn about cars unless i just dig into it, but i need a little help getting started. If ya'll could just give me brief discription of how to go about doing this, i would appreciate it alot. Thanks alot guys

first time I would get a box of zip lock bags. every time you take a part, sensor or anything off put it in a zip lock and label it for that part. that way to wont loose any bolts or nuts. B/c thats PITA when you cant find one bolt, and usally thats the one you really cant do with out.

i really like tackle box sections to organize bolts and stuff. you can section it off and put a piece of paper in there to tell you what its for. basically stay clean, organized and take your time. bad things happen when you work on your car pissed off.
