I have a lt1 and im getting hooker long tube headers..I kno alot of people say to get the loud mouth but im leaning towards making my own and getting hi-flow racing mufflers with dumps before the rear..What are you opinions and what kind of of mufflers should i get and should i make a x pipe or h pipe

actually alot of people try to stear people away from getting the loudmouth, because it sounds bad on lt-1 cars.....but to answer your question, do an x pipe w/ either sweet thunder, borla xr-1, or single chamber flowmasters. i think they all sound bad ***! of course its all into what you like.....

btw how r u running 11's without exhuast mods? unless you have shorties or something? seems like your really choking the motor, and you will notice a huge dif. once you put headers on.....

Loudmouth sounds pretty wild. I like mine even without the cats...BUT only at certain RPMs....at others it sounds like a 70's truck with glasspacks....Not cool. When I get LTs Im gonna run an X-Pipe with XR1s probably. Be carefull where you dump underneath the car. It can get pretty loud real easy when its under the car.

yea its def. been awhile since you've tried to make me look like an ***.....i guess i should have expected it. ive had the loudmouth, and i know many others that have had the loudmouth and said its sounded like **** after headers and such. so stfu and if your going to help this guy out, then help him. he is wanting to do td's so help him decide which mufflers. dont be a cockbag like you tend to be in everyother post you make.

btw did some searching and found some quotes.....

i hate my LM unless its at idle or WOT(LT's ORY and CAM)...definitely switching....you can take it off my hands if you want... (SSilverSSufer)

LM is only cool sounding WOT and very annoying around town, my friend is gonig to be trashing his (WS6FirebirdTA00)

I agree, the loudmouth IS trash. (Hambone 7)

Loudmouth sounds great at start up and idle, but at WOT it's really raspy, especially with LT's not cats. I had it on my 94 T/A and is had a terrible drone at 2000rpm's and was annoying on highway cruises. (JerseyLS1TA)

exhuast is all opinion based, so knowing that why are you getting all offensive when i say i do not like the loudmouth? if you want your car to sound like its under water (manifolds) or like a farmall tractor (longtubes, no cats) then the loudmouth is for you. if you want your car to sound refined and have a nice sound to it, another choice in a catback would be wise......

I don't remember you.

First off, I don't argue on the net.

An exhaust is an exhaust. It can be modified, for example the LM, with bullet mufflers, Dynomax, or the LM2 Resonator to accomodate LT's with no cats.
In short, a LM is straight pipes... NO restriction.

- In a poll on here, with over 500 votes, the SLP Loudmouth came in 2nd, only to GMMG. Thats over Corsa, Borla, MagnaFlow, Hooker and whatever else.
The LM does get raspy, but thats how its supposed to sound.
Mids with the LM sounds great.
LT's and cat, with the LM sounds great.
LT's and !cat is going to be extremely raspy, but like I said it goes either way.
Some people like it, some people don't.
ANY car with Long Tube Headers and 3" Straight Pipes is going to be loud.

There's many variables, but in short its all opinion anyways. Different strokes for different folks.
____
I've heard many crisp, clear and throaty exhausts and the Loudmouth is overall a great Catback.

Relax Kiddo.

Oh God GMMG.

My vote is for the Borla Race mufflers on the true duals, BUT I like the way an H pipe sounds a little better than the x pipe. And yes I think there is a difference. I have heard both. IMO

plain and simple, long tube headers, off road y pipe, connect to a bullit race muffler and dump it, trust me, it sounds sick. but i will warn you.... ITS VERY LOUD.

Just make sure you check with your local state law and see if they require exhaust to exit past the rear axle on a car. Georgia does that and I've known a lot of people that have gotten pulled over for having dumps and gotten tickets.
