If you want to take a step down in performance and a MASSIVE step doen in drivability and economy all for the sole purpose of destroying any value left in the car I say go for it.

Those with half a brain quickly embrace all the good injection can do for a performance car.

also with carbs... you notice you have to rebuild a motor alittle sooner... cuz the way fuel is dumped into the engine... it starts to was some rings away... stay fuel injected... much less hassel...

But what kind of motor are you building? I am doing a 406 with Dart heads and a 750HP carb. I will make way more power then with FI and will be able to tune it with a few hand tools.

So really it depends what what kind of power your trying to make.

If the motor is staying pretty much stock or heads/cam etc etc then YES stay FI you wont gain anything by just switching to a carb.

well i had planned to go 383 stroker fully built. my buddy has one he is selling me. just the block with all the internals new. its a 383 stroker. the heads will be done. i was just asking cause i really dont want to deal with all of the dyno runs and all of the tunning that will be involved with that set up. plus it will not be a daily driver at all. maybe even a full drag car. i had planned to just go with full bolt ons but as i kept reading about this motor 383 sounds like the best way to go for me right now.

The injection will handle a pretty wild motor the only real limitation it has is it will not rev past 7000-7200rpms. Tuning injection is actually easier if you are smart enough to at least try and learn rather than blindly pronounce it evil and bad, also MUCH more finite control over spark and fuel.

You said 383 but did not say wether it was an LT1 383?????
