Default 383 pistons?

Is there a rod that I can use to use my existing standard 350 piston in a 383?I know there are different combinations of pistons and rods for a 383 but I dont really know what combo makes power at different rpm's.I dont have to use 350 pistons but I have a set of forged 11:1 350 pistons that would save alittle money but I would not use them if the piston-rod combo is not the preffered set up for power.I want to build it for drag racing.ANY HELP FOR A DUMMY?

u can't use standard 350 piston because a 383 uses a .030 oversize.... if u go with a standard bore and use a 3.75 stroker crank and 5.7 rod it will equal out to about a 370 or 377 if I not mistaken....

To elaborate:

Engine displacement is not determined by rod length. Your 350ci LT1 uses a 3.48" stroke crankshaft paired with a 4-inch piston (using 5.7" rods). To convert your engine into a 383ci, you'd need a 3.75" stroke crank paired with a 4.030" piston -- and you have the option of running either 5.7" or 6" rods (which will affect your piston choice). Naturally, running a longer stroke crankshaft and a larger diameter piston will require machine work and clearancing of the engine block.

I would suggest you pick up a book on engine building -- it's not quite as simple as throwing pistons and rods in there. You have to take into account the compression ratio, deck height in respect to the crank/rod/piston travel, how much money you're looking to spend, etc.
