spark advance jumping around at idle, is this right?
Well I have cc306 cam, p&p heads,58mm. t.b. 30lb. injectors. and some other mods. I put my autoxray scanner/datalogger on it, and noticed lately that the spark advance which is the timing right? is jumping around from 22'-25' degrees at idle.. I thought before it was just sitting around 25' degrees timing before. maybe I wasn't paying much attention. is this right, I know with the lope and rpm's jumping around slightly at idle 850-925 because of the cam that it might move just I don't remember it moving around before... any ideas..thanks.

I don't think I would worry about it. It logs data so many times a second so yeah it's gonna show a lot of variations. Looking back at my data logs from previous runs, I see a pretty consistent 2-3 spark advance change across my RPMs. Now if it were bouncing 15-20 degrees in a close range of RPM then I would probably worry.
