What should I do?
my car is at 106,xxx miles.. im weighing some options
1. Save some money, sell it, get an ls1 with low miles.
2. Keep it and save my money.
3. Throw an exhaust on it and get it tuned.
How long do LT1 motors last before they need to be rebuilt? When do most of the problems start to occur on these cars?

i got 140k times in sig, I say get an exhaust, and make the car look better spend time on getting everything fixed right and looking good. Lt1's go 200k easy with proper maintinence.

I know of MANY caprice LT1's that have passed the 300k mark, and many many in the 200k - 300k that are raced hard. It's all about matinace. My dad drives 4-5 96 9C1 cruisers, That have 175k, 200k, 230k, and anouther around 200k-ish, not sure on the 5th one, if there is a 5th one. My dad says they all still burn the tires at a stoplight, never burn oil, never give him crap(engine wise). about a week ago, he had the 230k one, doing 85 on the highway, and the Torque converter blew up. the Engine is not the weak link. The caddy had about 160k when it found the tree, and the caprice has about 180k. I know of a few guys who spray them at 175k... whats that tell ya?
