Default Oil Pumps

I recently made a post that I was going to go with a Melling HV Oil Pump. Well doing a little research after someone made the post that it will empty the pan proved to be correct, so I am sticking with the Stock one.
I also bought the Imput Shaft that comes with that HV Pump, and for those out there that have taken yours apart and broke that little plastic sleeve like I did, the Melling Shaft is a direct replacement. It costs like $6.00, and has a metal collar pinned on it instead of that plastic sleeve. That will be a little easier to work with, and more dependable.

Are you refering to using a stock oil pan...when you say it will empty the pan?? You can also use oil restrictors to keep oil in the pan and benifit from the higher oil pressure and this applys to non solid lift applications as well.MM

The extra capacity pans will negate the aeration of the high volume pump, What I am kind of wondering is has any one that drives the car on the street a lot and put some miles on the engines have had any problems with bearing erosion, over a period of time. Also what kind of PSI dose the Hv pump make on a Lt1 and is their any way to possibly port or polish the oil galleries to reduce PSI and increase flow?
